A young schoolgirl learns a great deal about families, love and loyalty in 1980's rural Ireland. This novella gave me more to enjoy and to think about in 88 pages than most books can manage in 400.

I am unused to sitting still and do not know what to do with my hands. Part of me wants my father to leave me here while another part of me wants him to take me back, to what I know. I am in a spot where I can neither be what I always am nor turn into what I could be.
