This collection of poems is the author's tribute to his deceased father, John. Each poem is an intimate insight into the life and personality of the aged war veteran. The author's memories of his beloved father are moving and powerful and at times, it felt as though I was intruding upon a private exchange between parent and son.

What am I working on, you used to ask. ... Ask me now and what, how, could I tell you? Building up your memorial like something grand raised out of rubble, out of the redundant stuff of language or your languages or what the fractured continents of language float on, something like the earth's core, seething, with its purposes beyond us.
