When the livelihood of an entire fishing village is threatened, 14 year old Cal inadvertently becomes involved in a bizarre and dangerous plot, devised by his father and the other fishermen, to save the fleet. His actions change his relationship with his parents and his community forever. A brilliantly atmospheric 'coming of age' novel in which the environment and the remoteness of Loyalty Island have major roles. Greatly enjoyed.
