Would you help a friend to die? This is such a warm, funny book about a very sad and serious subject. Alex tells his story with such honesty and dignity though he never sees the funny side of it. I loved it all - from the reading club to CERN!

But after a while, the crisis abated. Something slipped back into gear. I was dimly aware that the torch beam had moved on. It was now frozen on the space two feet to my left, though I was too frazzled to figure out why at the time. It was only later that I remembered Mr. Peterson was still in the passenger seat.
