This is a picaresque tale; a search for self knowledge which relentlessly stabbed at hard-to-accept truths within me. Reading it wasn't so much about understanding the characters but understanding how we all take compromises to maintain our sanity. The raw emotions in this book are exhausting and honest and sometimes bewilderingly beautiful.
