The author doesn't pull any punches in this tell-it-like-it-is dramatic modern American tale. The destructive nature of addiction is eye-opening in its candidness, so too the horror of warfare which is told with equal honesty. Narrated with passion and integrity, I found this book immersing, if a little disturbing in places.
