The Beekeeper's Pupil by Sara George

The Beekeeper's Pupil

Sara George

Refreshingly easy to read and a delightful mine of information about the life history of bees. Not much fun being a male bee though!

Extract
In truth I still have some difficulty overcoming my fear of holding a live bee. Whenever I have been stung, it’s been very painful. What makes it possible for me to do it is my firm conviction that if he had sight M. Huber would undertake it himself. As he doesn’t flinch from his blindness, so I mustn’t flinch from a bee sting. The first time it happened I cried out in surprise but I think I’m alert enough now never to do that again.
