Fran packs in her journo job at a local rag for the more glamorous world of a TV shopping channel - a world which the book gently sends up. Various personal and domestic crises for Fran and her friends get solved along the way.
While Kiefer and Steve bickered about the running order of the programme, she was delightfully out of it, mentally planning a two-day beauty routine which would help towards the next presenting session. As the swearing started, she was in the blissful world of the face pack and the aromatherapy bath, and wondering whether she could fit in quick manicure, pedicure and cathiodermie facial appointments after work that evening.
