Dad's Life by Dave Hill

Dad's Life

Dave Hill

A book that was exactly as it said in the blurb - unusual as the hype is often not the same as the text. A drama of real life, seen through the eyes of one character. Sometimes sad and sometimes funny - always compulsive.

Extract
I left Len's Clip joint tonsorially shorn and emotionally naked. Perhaps I should have been more careful, but it all happened so fast - just like Dily's departure. There we'd been in our Home Sweet Home the previous Friday night: me and Dilys Day making a fair job of pretending to love each other, when suddenly she was announcing that a removal van would pull up at the kerb on Monday morning - a 'Pickfords situation', like Len said.
