Skinfull by Hannah Bradby

Skinfull

Hannah Bradby

These two novellas touch upon issues of racism, domestic violence and child abuse, but it's not all doom and gloom. Skinfull is an engaging and curious read, an East meets West with a twist that is not quite chapati and chips.

'Well then, if you can't go home, shouldn't you think again about the council flats?'
'Don't be dafter than you have to Maya. We people don't live in they flats. We're not welcome.'
'But it's not all junkies. I met the residents committee in the Gorbals. They were nice white haired ladies in pastel acrylic cardies. Not threatening.'
'Humph. Maybe not to you. Did any of them speak Punjabi?' Balvinder asks contemptuously.
