Harry had found the Outkastes, the first people to make
him feel at home since his mother was snatched from him.
He left his father's house with just a few possessions,
copies of Achebe's Man of the People, Orwell's Animal
Farm and Salinger's Catcher in the Rye. His mother had
bought him the CD of the King's College choir so he could
practise the Laudate Dominum which made all the women
weep when he sang it in the choir. And he took
the Dunhill white linen slacks she had bought him on the
final Saturday of the Harrods sale when he was just a year
old.
