This novel will definitely take you out of your comfort zone. It is set in rural Wales and is narrated by a barely literate adolescent boy. His spiritual feelings are recalled through disturbing and moving accounts of his brutal domestic life. Both compelling and challenging, it is not for the fainthearted, but it is well worth the effort.
