A great Gothic thriller with lots of murders and, for me, a truly surprise ending.

'I do wish Brunel would not insist on using that dreadfully melodramatic title,' exclaimed Sir Benjamin. 'I'll be frank with you Phillips, Brunel, as you are well aware, is my patient. What you may not know is that he is in fact a very sick man and I fear that his increasing interest in ... shall we say rather morbid matters is doing little to aid his condition.
