This is a book that explores relationships - between parents and children, friends, and particularly siblings. Told by combining memories of the past with the present day. Tragic and funny scenes both stand out. I especially like the mixture of characters, some complex and some contemplative, and their interaction with each other.

And so these past few years Abby, too, had choosen how to spend her holidays, and the long stretches in between, inhabiting her life as a kind of ideal tenant, she thought, someone who made no noise or trouble, left no impression on her sourroundings.
